For Thursday we will finish up some of the terms from Tuesday’s article (Aarseth), but spend most of the time discussing Douglas and Hargadon, “The Pleasures of Immersion and Interaction,” make sure you read both the article, and the response (the article is on the top part of the page the response is below the dividing line). This is in First Person, but if you have yet to get a copy (apparently the book store had to order a few more copies), you can view the article here, you should also read the Schechner response, the Jenkins response and finally the Hargadon and Douglass response (note if you are reading it in the book version you do not need to read these responses on the web just read the ones in the book).
