For Tuesday read Shelly Jackson’s Patchwork Girl. Because it is not a work which has page numbers or a fixed narrative time I cannot tell you how far to read. So, instead spend at least two hours reading it, this should give you a range of experiences with the text as well as provide you with a sense of the narrative. You may want to plan on more than two hours as you could run into technical difficulties with reading it on a computer.
Note: Apparently some people are having trouble reading this on some PCs. I am not sure what the issue is, but, it does work easily on a Mac. Here is what you do. Boot the Mac into Mac OS X (that is don’t boot into Windows). Insert the CD. The CD contains the files for viewing in classic Mac mode and for viewing in OS X. You just need to select the correct file. Once the CD is in the drive, double click on the icon that says “Patchwork Girl” the program should launch. (See picture below.) If you do not have a Mac or a copy of Patchwork Girl the lab techs have one in the lab tech office next to the Motion Capture Lab. Just ask. But do not take the CD home with you as others might need.
