The incestuous relationship between government and big business thrives after dark.
Business, greater than another occupation, is a continual managing the near future; it's a continual calculation, an instinctive exercise in foresight.

I attended the lecture with a few members of our class and, well, it was a challenging experience. I didn't have time to read the essay prior to the engagement. Even if I had, I don't think it would have been a huge help. Stiegler's speech was extremely dense. A visual aid or handout was definitely called for. Nonetheless, I will credit EMAC 6300 for allowing me to grasp a few threads, however feeble and fleeting, of understanding. Stiegler is definitely a shining example of an academic who dwells on an entirely different plane of thought than we.

Dave! There's an error in the link to Mark Poster's article. I think you really meant http://ct.kaist.ac.kr/ko/curriculum/download.php?file_name=28.pdf.

That should do it.

"Short" is definitely a mischaracterization (or a deceptive characterization) of just about anything by Heidegger. QCT is very, very dense. I think recondite properly describes it. It takes a lot to unpack Heidegger. :)

Since I like to put a date on things for historical context, I would like to add that the Nichols essay was originally published in 1988 according to all the sources I have scoured.

McLuhan was fantastically dense and I decided to do myself a rare favor with some free time and tried to internalize every word. I know Dave said not to do this with all of our readings but I couldnt help myself. As such, my post is late and likely resembles the gushing of water from a flooded drain. Enjoy!
