“Playing With Style”

Back in grad school when I was more interested in video games I wrote a chapter for an edited collection, The Meaning and Culture of Grand Theft Auto. At this point I don’t research video games much, but for those who are interested it was an attempt to split the debate between the video games as narrative folks and video games as play folks, and instead find some different ground. The book is still being published by MacFarland Press, so if you are into video game studies it is worth a look. What I like about this book is it is a range of scholars take on one game, showing the range of approaches academics take to the medium.
