Jenn’s classroom, the one where she has students blogging as part of the composition class, is approaching half-way through the semester. While she has met with success as far as getting students involved, she would really like to get outside comments on the students posts. That is, she wants to get the students to realize that they are writing for an audience outside of just one (the professor). You can read about her pedagogical reasons for this at her blog the most cake. But more importantly, if you have some time, head on over to expos-i-story the blog for the class. There you can see all of the students blogs listed in the right hand column. Check out a few and leave some comments, while some of the assignments are structured (direct responses to Jenn’s questions) the ones I find fascinating are the “free writes.” Given the opportunity it is interesting to see what students want to write about.
