Spreadsheet

tablesicon.pngA couple people asked me a while back about alternative spreadsheets to Excel. On the PC, Open Office has always been a choice. And while on the Mac one could use Neo Office this program is a bit slow and clearly shows that it is not a native Mac application (even the newest Aqua release). But I discovered Tables the other day. I have only used it a few times, but seems to me do be exactly what I was looking for. A spreadsheet that is simple and effective. I am not crunching MBA type numbers here, 80% of the time I just want to keep lists to sort and grades. Tables is still in beta so it is free right now, the company might charge later (the web site indicates this) but grab a copy now while it is free and give it a try.
